Itinerary:
In the wake of the success of my first Hike For A Slice event, I have decided to make this a regular occurrence, so here is Part II.

This hike will start at Broadview Station. We will make our way to the Lower Don Trail and follow it south to the Waterfront. There we will pick up the waterfront trail and follow it along Queens Quay to the Lower Spadina area. From there we will wind our way north through some neighbourhood streets to Bathurst & Queen where the hiking part of the event will end.

Following the hike I will take anyone so inclined to a local pizza joint for a slice, but this part of the event is optional. This pizza place offers a more traditional Italian style pie with some unique twists and a few vegetarian options. This pizzeria also serves beer for those who want to make this a Hike for a Slice and a Pint event. There is limited seating, so we may have to eat elsewhere if they are busy.

The route is about 9.5km long and we will be hiking at a moderate pace of about 4.5-5.0km/h with a few short breaks. I expect the hike to take about 2 hours. We will be walking mostly on sidewalks and paved trails with some dirt/gravel trails at the beginning, so I would suggest a good pair of hiking shoes but running shoes should suffice. The route is generally flat with a few small gradual hills.

Please plan to arrive before the posted start time, we will be leaving immediately at 6:45pm. This hike will take place rain or shine.

See map below for start/end points and the rough hiking route. Click the points on the map for transit information.
