Itinerary:
Let's explore the Niagara Escarpment snowshoeing through some of the caves, hardwood and coniferous forests and open meadows of the Nottawasaga Bluffs Concervation Area . This 400- acre conservation area offers a number of trails and is popular area to snowshoe with breathtaking vistas of the surrounding countryside.

You will need your snowshoes. If you don't own a pair make sure you rent them ahead of time from MEC, or other places. The plan is to snowshoe for a couple of hours, have a quick lunch and then snowshoe for another couple of hours. Approximate total distance 8-10 km, depending on conditions. I expect that there be plenty of snow for snowshoe, but if trails are packed we may choose to hike instead. As with all my hikes.. we will be travelling SLOW, SLOW, SLOW, and we will travel as a group.

Dress for the weather and for the strenuous activity in the winter - meaning wear layers that can be taken off and added on, hat, gloves/mitts, etc.

Those who are willing to drive will be moved preferentially off the waiting list. More participants will be added if there are enough drivers. Those who are willing to drive, please ensure you answer the question about the number of passengers that you can take when you sign up.

We will leave carpool promptly. So be on time. Drive is about >1.5 hrs one way. Thus consider this an ALL DAY EVENT. If there is enough interest we can stop for early dinner at Mylar and Loreta's Restaurant. No drop outs.

In addition to the carpool expenses, there is a $2 entry fee/pp to the conservation area
