Itinerary:

The terrain is variable, with hilly and rocky sections. Length of hike is 20 km, pace will be a brisk 4.5 km/h.

A combination loop and "there and back" hike, taking in the Cheltenham Badlands, the Devil’s Pulpit and McLaren Rd Side Trail. After the hike we'll stop at the Spirit Tree Cidery for lunch and a sip of hot cider.

This hike is suitable for intermediate hikers who like to step up the pace a bit. It is NOT suitable for beginners or hikers who prefer slower walks. If you don't have a history with the TOC, please include some comments in the notes about your hiking background to convince me that you can keep up.

Members willing to drive, regular D4 hikers, and members with favourable attendance records may get priority on the wait list.

Notes:

Note: If you come on a winter hike, you should always have a pair of icers in your pack. You won't have to use them very often, but when it is icy on the trail, you'll need them. The icer is held to your boot with a set of Velcro straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding. You can purchase good quality icers at MEC.
