Itinerary:

This is a nice moderate hike that involves some hills, uneven terrain and probably some muddy areas. Please note that we will hike at a moderate pace of 3.5-4km/hr.

We'll start at Rattlesnake Point Conservation area and follow the Nassagaweya Canyon Trail (7.2 km - about 2 to 2.5 hours) to Crawford Lake Conservation Area. We'll take a lunch break at the reconstructed 15th century Iroquoian village at Crawford Lake. Then we'll hike back to our starting point.

Please bring a lunch and at least 1-2 Litres of water.

Fees: The park’s entrance fee is $6.75 per adult.

  • weather appropriate clothing
  • another pair of shoes for ride home (with bag to store the dirty ones)

Carpool Cost: Approximate vehicle expense for this event is $25.80 (calculated at total Km * $0.258, effective Wednesday, April 24, 2024). This is based on $0.08/Km for maintenance, plus current gas price divide by 9. Your event coordinator will confirm exactly how much money is required from each person.

Notes:
  • If we are short of drivers, they will get priority on the waiting list.
  • Priority will also go to those with good attendance records.
  • This hike will go ahead rain or shine. If it's raining, please bring appropriate rain gear.
