Itinerary:

If you have not ridden with me, to ride on this event you MUST answer the questions at the bottom of this description in the AFFIRMATIVE. You can do so by copying and pasting the questions into the notes sections of the sign up page.

PLEASE NOTE: that if you plan to take the TTC in the morning to Union Station, the Subway starts at 9 am on Sundays, and so you might need to take a bus instead. Here is the link to TTC website http://www3.ttc.ca/Routes/Buses.jsp The Yonge night bus is # 320 and the Bloor Danforth night bis is # 300. Check the times for Sunday. Bus have racks for two bikes on their front. If they are in use, ask the bus driver if you can take you bike in the bus itself - you can tell him/her you have a train to catch!

We will travel through suburban Whitby and then ride north into the countryside. We will arrive in Port Parry on the shores of Lake Scugog, where we will find a restaurant to eat lunch. While in Port Perry, if it is warm enough we can swim at the beach in Palmer Park near the downtown. Or we can just walk around the town. Then we will ride back to Whitby along the same route.

Our route generally follows low traffic paved roads. In only a few short sections will follow higher traffic roads. There are a few hills along the way but they are not too bad.

We will meet at Union Station at 9:50am to buy tickets and take the GO train leaving at 10 13 am (sometimes there is a line up to buy tickets and so you do need to arrive some minutes before the train leaves). We will buy return tickets and use the elevator to get our bikes to the platform. Ideally, there should only be a maximum of 4 bikes to a carriage, two at each end. Bikes are places behind and in front of the 2 vertical steel poles, next to the seats as you walk in the door. Please allow passengers to get on board first. The train arrives at Whitby GO at 11:01 am

You can meet us at the GO Station in Whitby in the NORTH PARKING LOT. The Station offers free parking in this parking lot and in the larger south lot.

We will return to Toronto on either of the trains leaving Whitby at 18: 47 or 19:47 and arrive at Union Station at 19:40 or 20:40.

Once back in Toronto those who want can go out for refreshments.

Will you meet us at Union Station or Whitby Go Train Station?

And again, if you have not ridden with me, to ride on this event you MUST answer the following questions in the AFFIRMATIVE. You can do so by copying and pasting the questions into the notes sections of the sign up page:
1. Do you agree to wear a bicycle helmet?
2. Are you experienced, comfortable, and safe riding in traffic i.e. with automobiles?
3. Are you able to bring a spare tube for your bicycle?
4. Does your bicycle fit properly?
