Today’s hike is brought to you by the letter G! G is for Gelato G is for Geocaching G is for OMG! It’s finally going to be warm on Sunday! This winter has gone on long enough!! We really are due for a nice day outdoors. Gee, why not indulge in a day of Gelato and Geocaching? I have planned out a special day that’s sure to welcome in Spring. I know Gelato, but …Geocaching? What’s that? Some of you may have not heard the term before, or you have, but haven’t tried it … yet! Simply put: Geocaching is like a treasure hunt using a GPS. It’s an outdoor game that gets me out of the house a lot. You can geocache all over the world! But don’t worry, as long as you like being outdoors, and like to learn new things, then I will explain as we go, plus you get to experience it first-hand. So, what do you have planned? We start off with a brisk hike to a neighbourhood Gelato shop. They have the real-deal. It’s in-house, hand made Gelato. And they have 150 different recipes. So you know there will be something special to try! Once we’re full of energy, we’re off to Mount Pleasant Cemetery to find a Geocache. Yes, it is just one, but don’t despair! This one is a multi-cache, and it’s 16 stages! So we can expect to spend about 3 hours bouncing around the cemetery, learning all sorts of interesting facts, seeing amazing sites, and hoping in the end to find the cache. At the end of the hike, we might pop into Fox & Firkin for a drink. Logistics: Stuff you should know before you sign up!
