Itinerary:

HIGHLAND CREEK TRAIL

This is a lovely Saturday morning walk along the full Highland Creek trail trail, starting in the west at Rouge Hill Go Station and ending at Guildwood Go Station. We will follow the path west out of Rouge Hill station and along the lake until we meet the trail head. From there we will follow the trail north up to Colonel Danforth Park, and up to the UofT Scarborough campus, then down to the end at Cedar Ridge Park.

The trail will be muddy and wet in places so bring icers and wear proper footwear (no running shoes). We will walk at a decent pace of 4.5-5.0 km per hour so be prepared to stick with the group. (No racing ahead as I won't be chasing after anyone who gets lost). Dogs are welcome.

RETURNING: The Go trains leave Guildwood Go station at 12 past every hour and it's half an hour to Union. You can also get the the Scarborough 86 bus, which stops at Guildwood Go Station and runs into Kennedy Station. I'm not running a carpool as the trail is linear and requires a shuffle. (If anyone is driving let me know).

ICERS: If you want to come on a winter hike with me, you must bring a pair of icers in your pack. You won't have to use them very often, but when it is icy on the trail, you'll need them. The icer is held to your boot with a set of Velcro straps, and keeps you from slipping and sliding on the ice. You can purchase decent icers at MEC or Canadian Tire.

No Shows: If you can't make it please remove yourself from the event by the cutoff time. Anyone cancelling after that may receive a No Show.
