Itinerary:

Part of the Last Minute Hike Series for people who just happen to be available for "spontaneous" hiking. At least the weather forecast will likely be accurate and Sunday should be sunny and cold, excellent hiking weather!

This event will be a moderate paced 16 km hike of Rouge Park (Bob Hunter Memorial Trail and other trail sections nearby). Given the recent snowfall and below zero conditions, please bring icers and trekking poles if you have them.

We'll keep to a comfortable pace of around 3.5 to 4.5 km an hour with plenty of chances for taking photos if desired. Lunch and snacks will be on the trail.

All dogs must be on leash and all dog waste must be packed out. Dog owners are responsible for their own rides.


Required Items to Bring:
  • Hiking boots or hiking shoes
  • Gaiters, gloves, mitts, scarf, warm hat
  • Icers and/or trekking poles
  • Appropriate clothing and layers for cold and windy weather
  • Sunglasses
  • Sunscreen
  • Lunch, snacks, about 1.5L of water
  • Change of shoes for after the hike
