Itinerary:

DISTANCE: about 8 to 10 km

PACE: On the hill, you can choose your pace. To and from the hill we will hike at about 4.5 km/h

DIFFICULTY: D3

VO2 MAX: is a measure of cardiovascular fitness. It is the maximum rate of oxygen
consumption attainable during physical exertion. Going for pleasant paced walks is good
and will improve your fitness somewhat, but to achieve higher levels of fitness you must
challenge your body with higher levels of physical exertion.
Hill climbing workouts are an excellent way to improve your VO2 MAX


We'll start and end at North York Centre subway station

Let's hike up and down the ski hills of Earl Bales Park a bunch of times. Maybe 1 to 4 times?

This D3 hike will be about 8 to 10 km depending how many times you climb the ski hill

It will be along a mix of paved, gravel and dirt paths, and the grass on the ski hill.

If you want to climb the hill only once or twice, then lounge around while others go up and down and up and down..... that`s ok.

If you do the hill once, your hike will be about 8 km.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:

We'll meet outside the Starbucks at North York Centre Subway Station.
The Starbucks is located on the west of Yonge St and on the north side of Mel Lastman Square and across the street from Empress Walk Mall.

For those driving:

There is free street parking in the area west of Beecroft Rd

Or there's a pay parking lot on the North-East corner at Empress/Park Home and Yonge Street, which is three traffic lights north of Sheppard Ave. Then it's just a short walk to the Starbucks, which is located on the south-west side.
