Itinerary:
We will set out from the Toronto Waterfront at 9 a.m. on Saturday morning, and cycle all the way to the Hamilton Waterfront (Confederation Park) via the Waterfront Trail. We will camp in Confederation Park on Saturday night, cooking our own evening meal, and cycle back to Toronto on Sunday after making ourselves breakfast and packing for the return trip home. The expected return time to Toronto is 6 p.m. on Sunday evening.

At the moment, I am planning this event as a fully loaded bike-touring event. Those who participate will have to carry their tent, sleeping bag, and other supplies with them on their bicycle. This means that you will require a suitable bicycle for the event. For a fully-loaded bike tour such as this, road bikes are not appropriate. You will need a bike (preferably, a "touring bike")that can carry approximately 30 to 60 pounds of supplies, including a tent and sleeping bag. Your bike should ideally have racks for pannier bags.

I have not made a final decision on this point yet, but it is possible that we will also have one car, loaded with some of our camping gear, going directly to Hamilton. The driver of the car would begin setting up our camp while the bike-riders are making their way to Hamilton. If there is someone out there who does not want to ride a bike, but wishes to go camping and to drive the supply vehicle, then please contact Jim O directly. If we have a supply vehicle, then those participating in the event will not need to ride fully-loaded bikes.

Clearly, this two-day bike-tour constitutes a long ride, and those who register to participate will have to qualify for the event by first successfully participating in a one-day bike ride with Jim O.

Required Items to Bring:
suitable bike, two spare tire tubes, basic bicycle repair kit; fluids and snacks for the ride to and from Hamilton; tent, sleeping bag, and other camping equipment.

We will have a mandatory pre-ride meeting during which details as to what to bring will be worked out. We will likely purchase food for cooking supper and breakfast once we get to Hamilton.)
Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Directions as to our departure point will be provided closer to the date of the event, but we will be meeting with our bicycles at some location along the Toronto waterfront.

Notes:
You can register for this event now, if you are interested, but you should keep in mind that you will need to "qualify" for participation by going on a one-day bike ride with Jim O prior to the registration cut-off date for this event. During your qualification event, Jim O will determine whether or not you are capable of completing the Toronto-Hamilton Bike Tour.
- Registration is NOT COMPLETE until you've signed up and paid by the registration cut off date. The money must be in the TOC's possession by that date. No exceptions.
- When a minimum group size appears, this is to let you know that the event will be cancelled with full refunds to those who have already paid, if the minimum number of registered participants is not met. For any events where TOC needs a minimum number of participants, there will be absolutely no refund of money if you cancel.
