Itinerary:

SASQUATCH!!!! While doing some research on other trails, Jenn M has discovered that among the rare animals sightings tracked in Ontario are sasquatch sightings. Yup, sasquatch. And in 2004, a sasquatch was sighted in the area of the Vanderleck Side Trail (part of the Toronto Section of the Bruce Trail).

We will be doing a 12.5-13k loop on the main Bruce Trail, incorporating the Speyside, Vanderleck, and Hilton Falls Side Trails. This will take us past look outs off the escarpment to the Scotch Block Reservoir below. While this is a short hike participants must be able to hike at a 4-4.5k/hr pace.

This is the perfect chance for a short and quick hike before the holidays start! Not to mention the possibility of spotting a sasquatch! ;)

Note the coordinator has two dogs which may be on this hike.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are you crazy?

Yes.

Do you believe in sasquatch?

No. But I'm willing to concede the possibility that I may not always be right.

How do you spot a sasquatch?

Good question! You look for the really hairy bipedal thing!

Can you communicate with sasquatches?

Apparently, yes! Google has yielded information on the art of 'tree knocking'. This involves, you guessed it, knocking on a tree. Preferably with a large rock. If you hear an answering knock, it could be a sasquatch!

So the knock wouldn't be a woodpecker?

If you want to be boring, than yes, it could be.
